First day arrive scheduled
salamanca Market
I have been visiting Tassie on February 2020 and my first day arrival was on Saturday. The first day arrived trip plan was visiting the Salamanca Market. Salamanca Market is running on every Saturday basis. It is one of the top attractions that travellers must visit. Please find more details about Salamanca Market on my blog tab of my website.
After visiting Salamanca Market, I straight away to check in my Quest houses. I was staying at the quest house. It is a very good accommodation and it is very convenient. After that, I visit the Elizabeth Street Pier, Hobart Tasmania and enjoyed my dinner at the same time. It is like 2 minutes walk from the market to the destination which is very close.
The beautiful city of Hobart Tasmania
Elizabeth Street Pier is a major street and it is located in Hobart Tasmania. They are very similar with the Fremantle Perth Australia where there is very Western Style shops, fish market, food and beverage stores, harbour front, souvenir shops, Asian restaurant, Elizabeth street mall, cruise tours and many other fun tours.
Showing around the Elizabeth Street
While walking and exploring around the Elizabeth Street Pier, you will see that there is couple of army ferry around the ocean which will surprising you a lot. It is very nice to see them and taking a background snapshot.
While walking all the way to the destination from the Salamanca Market, you will pass-by this road. Beforehand, Tasmania is a very quiet state so you won’t see many car around the roads. Tasmania public transport is not as convenient as Perth so you may want to hire a car or being a patient to wait for the shuttle buses. For me, i love walking so i was walking all the time in Tasmania.
This is a very beautiful of the port of Hobart. It was reminding me of habour front in Fremantle. Do not forget that whichever harbour you are visiting and exploring, the most popular food at harbour front is always seafood such as seaweed, fish and chips, prawn, squid lobster and so on. Never get out of seafood at the Port Harbour.
You will find this info board somewhere around the Main Port. There is lot of things to do around the Port of Hobart at the Elizabeth Street Pier. There is a market on Every Sunday basis. It is quite different with the Salamanca Market which is running on every Saturday. Apart from Market, you could discover the Tasmanian Museum & art gallery to learn the Tasmania state history. According to the map, look at the Elizabeth street, whole street is CBD of Tasmania. I do recommended to walk throughout the street and explore around. There is the Hobart GPO and the Town Hall at Elizabeth Street. I went both of them and they are kind of shopping centre. They have Woolworth, bubble tea shop, number of asian restaurants and others.
When i walked throughout the Elizabeth Street Pier, i have seen this souvenir store and they sell gift that everything about Tasmania such as i love Tasmania T-shirt, Tasmania art work, Tasmania map, a mug etc…i bought the most popular stuff called popcorn.
I love this nice bridge while i was walking through this bridge to explore the whole Hobart Port. I love it and you will love it too. Good place to snapshot for a beautiful background like me 😂
I am a ocean lover and i love to walking around the Port Harbour to explore and see what is there and take note if necessary such as if there is any cruise tour and when their operator hours will be so that i could plan next trip. This is how i always did when my holiday is very short. I was just walking up and down the Hobart Port to see what tour they have and plan for my next trip back to Tasmania. Meanwhile, i do enjoyed the cold weather and it is a good exercise to walk as well.
Dinner time at Tassie
By the way, we called Tasmania as a Tassie. Tassie is a short form of the word. It is much more easier to call Tassie.
Today, i am going to introduce the best and top Western Restaurant in Hobart Tasmania. The restaurant name is called Fish Frenzy. Fish Frenzy is just located in the Elizabeth Street Pier at the main entrance of the harbour. I went there for my dinner after explored and discovered the Port of Hobart. The Fish Frenzy restaurant had lot of different seafood dishes and burgers. I had the fish and chip for my dinner that day. It was very tasty and crispy so i would recommended to you for a try. It is very costly but it worth to get them once in a while.
This is one of the popular dishes as well. It is a squids with salad. I love the fried squid so much. It is very crispy and the potion is acceptable.
Most of the people ordered these both dishes in the Fish Frenzy Restaurant. Both are costly but it is good to try out something new at the different places.
This is one of the boat tour at the Elizabeth Street Pier. When i seen this boat, i was quite surprise that there is so many different type of boat that offer to visitor. I am very highly interested to join the tour but unfortunately my vacation in Tassie was too short. When i join this tour in the future, i will update my blog. Stay tune 🙂
If you have any enquiry or concern, please don’t hesitate to contact me or just drop me a comment below. Stay tune on my next blog 🙂
